Shannon Salum - Associate Director

Shannon started her volleyball career her sophomore year of high school, and played basketball for over 10 years prior.  She lettered in 3 varsity sports at Mountain View High School including volleyball, basketball, and track and field.  Her senior year she helped lead her team to 2nd place in the region and hosted the first round of state for the first time in school history, then continued to Sweet 16 in state as the top blocker only to lose to the state champions. She also received Academic Achievement Award/Scholar Athlete in both basketball and volleyball.
Shannon played 2 years of club on the National level with Georgia Juniors Volleyball Club in Athens, and got the defensive player award. She then went on to play volleyball at LaGrange College in 2012, before transferring and graduating from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s in Art (cum laude).
Shannon started coaching at Athens Christian School as the head JV coach and then head Varsity coach the following year.  She coached her first year of club with Georgia Juniors, then coached with ProLink Volleyball for 3 years in Cumming and Athens.  She works as a coordinator for us, does private lessons, graphic design work, website design, and marketing!  She runs the rec department volleyball program at Oconee County.  She still currently plays beach and grass tournaments.
